Mr. Larry Jerome "Tyke" McKeever, 48, of 213 N. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va., entered into eternal rest and peace on Friday, March 16, 2012, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va.

He was born Aug. 13, 1963, to the late Daniel Price and Frances McKeever Macklin. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Price; stepfather, James Macklin; grandparents, George and Lucille McKeever; and father-in-law, Alexander Johnson.
At an early age he was baptized at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Larry graduated from Petersburg High School, Class of 1981. He attended Virginia State University. He was a former employee of Timtus Optical Co.
Larry was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Petersburg High School's winning football team in 1979. He was a coach for the Carson Cardinals baseball team.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Crystal McKeever; daughter, Dynisha Coleman; son, Martonio Coleman (Justine); three grandchildren, Martonio, Mar'Lays and Zai'Mauri Coleman; mother, Frances McKeever Macklin; mother-in-law, Gladys Coleman; seven sisters, Angela Lundy, Regina Bradby (Sidney), Candace Bethea (Alfred), Chris Evans, Rita Price, Sharon Gamby (Alvin) and Teresa Cole (Milton); five brothers, Patrick and Bobby Price, James Parham, Paul Macklin (Cassandra) and Joseph Macklin (Sylvia); three sisters-in-law, Catherine Stith (Kevin), Anita Coleman and Patrice Johnson; one brother-in-law, Franklin Coleman (LaShawn); godchildren, Rita Jones, Lakel, Larry, Kevin and Kavel Green, Jayla Jones, Jakari Jones and Tyeshawn Harris; aunts, the Rev. Merle Keene (Robert), Helen Bennett, Betty Nunnally (Albert) and Gloria Rose; uncles, George McKeever Jr., Lawrence McKeever Sr. (Mary), James McKeever (Marilyn), Alvin McKeever Sr., (Augusta), William McKeever (Deloise) and Robert McKeever (Dulceana); devoted friends, Isaac Hargrave, Larry Wilson, Phillip Lee, Mike Teasley, J.T., Hal Jordan, Eddie Veale, Richard Chucky Leach, Steve Wills, Ronald Kenny, Calvin Morgan, Ben Utsey, Calvin Finney, Ronald Evans, the Jones brothers, Johnson brothers, Green family, Blandford community and the Carson Cardinals baseball team; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
A funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 613 E. Wythe St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Eli Melvin, pastor, and the Rev. Merle Keene, eulogist. The interment to follow in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 213 N. Crater Road, Petersburg, Va.
