Jaron received a loving call from the Lord, saying welcome home my son. During his illness God granted him peace for his journey home.

Mr. Jaron L. Davis Jarratt, 26, born Sept. 26, 1985, affectionately known as ThirdwardShawty, of 614 Wesley St., Petersburg, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his father, Prince Stephen Jarratt; grandparents, Annie Davis, Prince Greene, and Delia Jarratt; great-grandparents, Mary Davis, Fred Davis (Daisy), great-great-grandparents, Eva and William Robinson; aunts, Lecolia Nixon and Dollie Kelly; and uncles, George Bishop Jr., Robert Bishop, Keith E. Davis, Henry Nixon, Clarence Davis (Dorothy) and Alfred Lewis Jarratt.

Jaron was a graduate of Petersburg High School, class of 2003. He also attended Beta Tech Technical College. He was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Petersburg, Va., where he was a faithful member of the Young Sounders. Jaron was well loved by his family and friends. The brightness of his smile was rivaled only by the sunshine and depicted his love for life, his family and loved ones. He had a passion for music, which extended to the joy of singing, writing and performing with the Our City Boyz.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his devoted mother, Cheryl Davis Jarratt (Larry) of Petersburg, Va., and devoted and loving grandfather, George Bishop Sr. of Petersburg, Va.; five beautiful children, whom he adored, Jaliyah, Janiyah, Jarontae, and Javon Jarratt, all of Norfolk, Va., and Terrell Moore of Richmond, Va.; four sisters, Anwya L. Battle, Che-Cora Davis Battle, Lauren D. Edmonds, and Dewawa Murphy, all of Petersburg, Va.; one brother, Stephen C. Edmonds of Petersburg, Va.; aunts, Helen Williams of New York, Eva Littlejohn, Tammy Palmer, Deborah Thompson, Tonya Bishop, Kendra Peterson, and Linda Rasheed, all of Petersburg, Va., Annie Parham of Baltimore, Md., and Julie Sanderson of Colonial Heights, Va.; uncles, the Rev. Samuel Robinson (Dorothy), John Henry Robinson (Mattie), James Bishop, Jejuan Pegram, Kendrick Peterson, Ronald Jarratt, Michael Davis, Anthony Davis (Michelle), Maurice Davis (Karen) and Fred Davis (Jadica), all of Petersburg, Va., Gary Jarratt (Brenda) of Lake Charles, La.; godsister, April Brown. He also leaves a host of other devoted family members and friends, among them: the Bishop, Davis, Battle, Williams and Smith families, loving friend, Courtney Burwell, special friends, Lakeii Williams, Travis Talley, Timothy Gilliam, Adrian Edmonds, Todd Perry, Keisha Stith, Zina Coles, Madelyn Richardson, and the dedicated staff of VCU/MCV 10th Floor West, Odyssey Hospice and Care Advantage.

We will miss Jaron, but our hearts will forever hold him dear. Rest on loved one as you now dwell in the house of the Lord.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Samuel Robinson, eulogist. The interment to follow at the Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
