Mr. George Allen, "Big G. Lo.", departed his life suddenly on Jan. 8, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1947, to John and Martha Allen. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father; two sisters, Ruth Jones and Hazel Thomas; two brothers, Raymond and Melvin Allen.

Big G. Lo. was from Prince George, but a long-time resident of Waverly. He worked at Smurfit Stone for 35 years; one of his main hobbies were hunting with his Green Top Hunting Club crew, also fishing.

Big G. Lo leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, one devoted, Eulanda Allen (Travis) of Prince George, Norma Jenkins (Tim) of Hopewell, and Tracey Crockett (David) of Prince George and Jamila Allen of Petersburg; two stepdaughters, Felisha Claiborne and FeShona Simms; nine grandchildren; one devoted, Robert, LaQuata, Kadida, LaWayne, Tresia Allen, Tykeshia Shaw, Devin Jenkins, Takeshia Crockett and Danny McClure; two great-grand- children, Romari Allen, Britton Johnson Jr.; four sisters, Ruby Jones (Bob), Annie Williams (Walter), Hannah Evans, Evelyn Taylor (Joseph), all of Prince George, and Barbara Williams of Hopewell; one brother, John Allen (Shirley) of Hopewell; one sister-in-law, Mary Allen of Hopewell; a host of nieces, nephews, among them devoted nephew, Marvin Williams, Darryl Allen, Ronald Jones and John Allen; other devoted friends, Buck, Kimball, Quisha, Mecca, Mr. Peter "Bud" and Rodney Taylor and host of other devoted family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Empowerment Temple, Waverly. Pastor Terrance Green will officiate. Interment will follow in the Booker T. Memorial Park, Wakefield.
