Mr. Marion Williams Davis, of Boston, formerly of 602 Harrison St., Petersburg, Va., departed life on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

He was born Jan. 28, 1941, to the late Rev. Joe Nathan and Nancy Williams Davis of North Carolina. He worked at Consolidated Services in Massachusetts for over 30 years before retiring. He also was employed with Campbell Trucking as a truck and dump truck driver; after retirement, he owned his own transportation business, driving people to their appointments, etc.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Wallace, Wilson and James Davis, and one sister, Josephine Davis, and a niece, Diane Garner.
He was married to Mildred Ward Davis; also surviving are two devoted sisters, Luverdis Garner of Petersburg, Va., and Bettie Motley of Pleasant Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, among them very devoted, Naomi Pair, Jacqueline Diggs, Sharon Davis Marshall, Franchester Blowe, Joseph Motley, Melvin and Rickie Garner, Joyce, Denise, Paul, Larry and Cynthia Davis of Boston.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dr. Albert L. Toney Sr., pastor emeritus of Unity Baptist Church, eulogist. The interment will to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble 12:30 p.m. at the funeral establishment.
