Mr. Jerome Reid of Edmonds Avenue, Petersburg, departed this life on June 15, 2013, while he was a patient in Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. He was born on Jan. 18, 1967, to the late Willie Reid Jr., and Alma Chambliss Reid in Franklin. Jerome was the nephew of the late Roy Chambliss.

Jerome was a 1986 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Virginia State University in Petersburg. He was employed as a photographer for the Richmond Free Press, Richmond.

Jerome is survived by: two sisters, Belinda Reid, Vickie Reid of Franklin; one brother, Eric L. Reid of Franklin; one aunt, Ruby C. Lawrence; one uncle, James Chambliss; and cousins.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013, East End Church of God, 410 East St., Franklin, with Bishop Stefán Adams Sr. delivering the eulogy, Bishop S.D. Willis is the pastor. The Committal and benediction will be held in Southview Cemetery. On the day of service, his remains will rest in the church for viewing by 10:30 a.m.

A visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison St., Petersburg. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin. Please share your condolences with the family at
