Ms. Jacquelyn Wilder James was born on Aug. 2, 1944, to the late Ernest E. Wilder Sr. and Lillian S. Wilder. He was also preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Wilder Jr.

Mrs. James attended Peabody High School. She provided private duty care and was a member of First Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted son, Reginald James; two devoted daughters, Patricia Spencer (Ricky) and Debra Poarch (Robert); two grandchildren, Jordan Spencer and Kayla Poarch (former husband, Wilbert James); one devoted aunt, Pauline Harris; devoted mother-in-law, Lillian James; sister-in-law, Anna Clay (Joe); caring niece, Pamela Witcher (Richard); caring nephew, Ernest Wilder III (Tracie), and a host of other loving nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends.
A funeral service for Ms. Jacquelyn James will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at the Chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, the Rev. Damion T. Batts, eulogist. The interment to follow at the Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 512 Kenmore Drive, Petersburg.
