Mrs. Willie Ann Skipper of 18219 Flatfoot Road, Dinwiddie, entered into eternal rest and peace on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born on Dec. 14, 1940, to Walter Skelton Sr. and Nancy Elizabeth Bennett Skelton in Dinwiddie County. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter Skelton Jr. and Pernell Skelton; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Skipper; brother-in-law, Edward Prosise; and sister-in-law, Delphine Skelton.

She was a former employee of Virginia Abrasive until declining health. She was also a member of the Mount Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, where she was a member of the Missionary Ministry, and was a volunteer at the Petersburg Food Bank. Mrs. Skipper opened her door and heart to anyone in need in the community.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Raymond Skipper; her children, Shirley Johnson (Frankie, a devoted son-in-law), Sherman Skipper, and Shelly Thomas; brothers, James Skelton (Colena), Robert Skelton, and Maynard Skelton (Delores); a sister, Mary Prosise; sisters-in-law, Carolin Skelton and Valerie Skelton; five grandchildren, Kimberly Johnson, Shermika Johnson, Montreke, Sharmonique Skipper, and Ronald Burgess Jr.; great-grandson, James Jackson Jr.; a host of nieces; nephews; an aunt, Elise Bennett; and a host of friends, to include Beverly Allen, Alice Bolling, devoted telephone friends, Missionaries of Mount Level, Elsie Bennett, Catherine Gilliam, Marie Hall, and Claire Harvell.
The family will like to thank the staff of the Southside Regional Dialysis Center, especially Amanda Burkes.
A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the Mt. Level Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, with the Rev. Bernard Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park. The family will assemble at the residence at 10 a.m. on the morning of the service.
Public viewing will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013, at the funeral home.
