Andrew affectionately known to his family as "PeeWee." Andrew J. Smith of Petersburg entered into eternal rest on Nov. 14, 2013, at Southside Regional Medical Center Petersburg. He was a native of West Petersburg where he was known as "Snoopy Jean," however, he resided in Petersburg for the past 25 years.

He was the son of the late Randolph Alexander and Mary Frances Harris. Andrew was a former employee of Brown-N-Williams and a retired employee of the city of Petersburg where he was known as "Pops."

He was preceded in death by: his brother, Bernard "Big Man" Harris; and his aunt, Martha Lee Smith.

Andrew leaves to cherish his memories: a very devoted friend, Jacqueline Goldson of West Petersburg; stepchildren Antwon, Dorothy Powell, Maria Simmons, Delmont Goldson, Mitchell Goldson, Terrica Goldson and Juanita Reaves; one uncle, Percy J. Smith of Amelia County; one brother, Willie J. Harris of West Petersburg; two sisters, Irene Banks of West Petersburg and Elenda Harris of Petersburg; four nieces, Tennill Wiggins (Joseph), Katrina Harris, both of Petersburg, Shakita Stephenson (Darius) and Marketa Brown (Kevin), both of Matoca; four nephews, Cardell Banks of Amelia; Douglas Harris, Shawn Harris and Eric Harris, all of Petersburg; 11 great-nieces; four great-nephews that he loved all so dearly. A host of family and friends and among them devoted friends Theodore Price, Charlie Rock (Joann), Douglas Boyd and Big Q.

Funeral services for Mr. Andrew J. Smith will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at First Baptist Church West Petersburg, 25720 Greensville Ave., Petersburg, the Rev. Peter Jeffries, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Level Baptist church Cemetery, 901 Wheels Road, Amelia. Remain will rest at the church one hour prior to service.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family is receiving relatives and friends at the residence of his niece, Tennille Wiggins (Joseph), at 123 Elm St., Petersburg.
