Leavenworth McGill "Wortie" Ferrell, 73, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James William Ferrell Jr. and Evelyn Page McGill Ferrell; and stepdaughter, Martha Bradford Wyche Bell.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Flynn Ferrell; son, Leavenworth McGill Ferrell II, wife, Courtney, and their children, Giles, Rosie and McGill; stepsons, Francis Lewis Wyche III, wife, Stephanie, and their children, Feild and Ruth; Fletcher Flynn Wyche, wife, Abigail, and their children, Hazel and Anna; stepson-in-law, Dr. Maurice Harold Bell, and children, Justin, Reese and Hudson; brother, James William Ferrell III, and wife, Dorothy; nephew, James William Ferrell IV and wife, Cynthia; niece, Laura Ferrell Gardner and husband, David.
Mr. Ferrell attended Christchurch School and Hampden-Sydney College, and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a senior vice president and served on the Board of Directors at Davenport & Company.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 6000 Grove Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Bradford Foundation, c/o The Community Foundation, 7501 Boulders View Drive, Suite 110, Richmond, VA 23225, or Christchurch School, 49 Seahorse Lane, Christchurch, VA 23031, or Hampden-Sydney College, P.O.
