JOSHUA ARCHER Obituary
Joshua accepted Christ at an early age. He attended The Glory of God Ministry, where he served as junior usher, and member of the youth choir.
Though his death was sudden, he leaves us with a lifetime of memories, warm thoughts, and pleasant experiences. He was preceded in death by his mother, Melinda Archer; grandmother, Pastor Jean Brooks; grandfather, Richard Brooks; and great-grandmother, Julia Jefferson Richardson.
He leaves to cherish his memory; father, Timothy (Pete) Bonner Jr.; grandmother, Floreen Danqua; grandfather, Kenneth "Mike" Yates; brothers, Isaiah Walton and Montrell Gilliam; sister, Sianni Gilliam; uncles, Arrick Bonner, Jacob Yates, and Pastor Jack Archer; aunts, Cynthia Archer, Christina Brooks, Cassondra "Tee" Beasley, Joy Rodriguez, and Michelle Bonner Turner; two devoted best friends, Lamar Rowe and Malek Leach; host of cousins, relatives, and friends, too numerous to name.
Services for Joshua Archer will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at The Glory of God Ministry, 1001 West High St., Petersburg, Va., with the Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson Sr., officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the funeral home.
The family will receive guests following services at 22 Mars St., Petersburg, Va.

To the family of Joshua Archer,
On behalf of my daughter Essence whom graduated with Josh in June, and my son Justin, whom Josh was working with at Hardees before his untimely passing, we send our deepest and heartfelt condolences for your loss. While I did not personally know Josh, he touched me on last Wednesday when, after dropping my son off at work, and going through the drive through to place an order (with my dog in the car), Josh stated to me, "I like your dog." I had asked him jokingly, if he wanted my dog and he was laughing and saying "Yes!" I took it that Josh was a lover of dogs such as myself.
While I do not know the pain of losing a child, I know the pain of losing a loved one. I want Josh's family to know that his bubbly presence touched me in a very special way on last Wednesday (Aug. 20), but, most of all, his smile will forever be with me. Praying for comfort for his family during this difficult time. May God bless each of you. R.I.P Josh, you will be greatly missed!
