LAFRENAYE, LUCIEN L., 96, of Valrico, Fl, formerly of West Warwick, passed away at Savannah Court in Florida on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of the late Yvonne H. (Samson) Lafrenaye. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Stanislaws and Alexina (Bernier) Lafrenaye. Lucien was an Officer in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and retired from the US Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. He later owned and operated the Lafrenaye Awning Company for many years before retiring. He is survived by two sons, Lucien L. Lafrenaye Jr. (Carol) of Newport News, VA and Peter S. Lafrenaye of Warwick; a daughter, Linda L. Busby (Norton) of Valrico, Fl; four grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Jessica and Brian; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Cassandra Marie; a niece, Lorraine Walker as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aurora and Philippe Lafrenaye and Alice Gadoury. Visitation will be held Friday morning 9:00 - 10:15 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church, Coventry. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Heifer International will be appreciated. iannottifh.com

Goodby to a great man. I will miss him but will always remember the last few years that I was able to spend more time with him then before. It was great and he will be missed but not forgotten.
