DEL DEO, JOSEPH L., 84, of River Farms Dr., passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Riverview Healthcare after a heroic battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the beloved husband of Marie D. (Prioletti) Del Deo for 59 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Louis and Marie (Donnelly) Del Deo. A Navy veteran who served during the Korean War, Joseph was a former Partner/Owner of Cowan Plastics in Providence. He served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Plastic Engineers and was active in the Society of Plastic Industry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Scalabrini Council and Rotary Club and was a big PC Friars Basketball fan. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Stephen J. Del Deo and his wife Sherry of Coventry and Joanne M. Whitcomb and her husband James of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Jennifer A. Whitcomb, Tracey Driscoll and Scott Behm and a great-grandson, Kayden Driscoll. He was a brother of the late Anne Brophy. His Funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saints John & Paul Church, Coventry. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm.
