Benoit, Michael - South Kingstown  
BENOIT, MICHAEL J. 28, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 17, 2016. Born in Providence, a son of Gary F. and Paula (Loiselle) Benoit of Wakefield. Michael was a recent graduate of the University of Rhode Island; an avid soccer and football fan; enjoyed Narragansett Beach, body building, bike riding, auto mechanics and music. Besides his parents he is survived by his brother, Derek N. Benoit and his companion, Meredith Murphy of Wareham, MA; a nephew, Logan; a niece, Addyson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 8:30 am from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Rd., Kingston. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Galilee Mission, 268 Kingstown Rd. Narragansett, RI 02882. Benson, Melvoid - North Kingstown  
BENSON, MELVOID J. (ESTES) 86, a longtime educator, RI State Representative and North Kingstown School Committee member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was the wife of the late Arnathia Benson; and mother of the late Gilbert Nathaniel Benson and Estes Arnathia Benson. Her funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 8am in the North Kingstown United Methodist Church, 450 Boston Neck Road. Burial will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. BIANCHI, RALPH SR. 84, passed away on June 22nd. He was the husband of the late Elena (Folcarelli) Bianchi. Born in Italy, he was the son of the late Marcello Bianchi. Ralph was a self-employed carpenter for many years. He leaves 5 sons, Ralph Jr. of Cranston, Ernest of Johnston, Marcello of Lincoln, Luigi of Lincoln, Anthony of Providence; a daughter, Carmella of Johnston; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. BOTVIN, CAROLYN R. (ELMAN) 87, died June 17, 2016. She was the wife of Burton "Sonny" Botvin for 68 years. Born in East Greenwich, a daughter of the late Benjamin & Celia (Jacobson) Elman she lived for many years in both Rhode Island and Palm Beach, FL. Mrs. Botvin was a member of Temple Beth El and its Sisterhood, and Hadassah. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, Jim Botvin and his wife Shelley of Warren and Robert Botvin and his wife Jayne of North Kingstown; and her grandchildren Michael and his wife Rayna, Ben, Russell, and Rebecca. She was the mother of the late Nanci Botvin and sister of the late Arthur Elman and her twin sister Doris Charren. Funeral services will be held Monday June 20th at 11:00 AM at Temple Beth El, 70 Orchard Ave., Providence with burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery. BOYLE, WILLIAM F. JR. 87, of Johnston, died June 21, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Eileen (DeAguiar) Boyle for 64 years until her passing in January. Born in East Greenwich, he was the son of the late William F. and Mabel (Brennan) Boyle. He is survived by three daughters, Patricia Waterman and her husband Allan of Johnston, Donna Danielian and her husband Jeff of Lincoln, and Jean Boyle of Branford, CT, seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held Friday at 8 am from the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave, Providence. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours Thursday 5-7 pm. Brenner, Jetta - Providence  
BRENNER, JETTA (SORGMAN) 90, passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016. She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Jules and Florence (Fluster) Sorgman. She was a celebrated hotelier and the first lady general manager for the Sheraton Hotel Corporation. She managed the Sheraton Russell Hotel in New York City, and after retirement, managed the Montauk Yacht Club in Montauk, New York. Jetta leaves a daughter, Kathy Brenner of Cambridge, MA; son, Robert Brenner of Anchorage, AK; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sarah, and Bryan. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to either Temple Beth-El's Library Fund or Johnson and Wales Culinary Archives and Museum. Shiva will be private.
