CASTRIOTTA, MATTHEW L., 95, formerly of Warwick passed away Friday July 26, 2013 at Kent Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Philomena (Squillante) Castriotta to whom he was married for 67 years. Born in Plymouth, MA a son of the late Pietro and Virginia (Castriotta) Castriotta. Mr. Castriotta was a foreman and research and development lab technician for over 40 years at General Signal Corp. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Hainse and her husband Maurice, of Coventry, his son Peter M. Castriotta and wife Dorothy of Smithfield, six grandchildren; Lisa Abbenante, David Hainse, Mark Hainse, Gina Castriotta, Jessica Robitaille, Matthew Castriotta and twelve great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Gaetano Castriotta, Jaye Montefusco, Mary Valletta and the late Lawrence and George Castriotta, Anna DeSante and Carmella Vendresca. Mr. Castriotta was a hard working man who was deeply devoted to his family. His funeral is Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Cranston.
