Raymond Trudel Obituary

TRUDEL, RAYMOND A.,

84, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.

He is survived by Gertrude Marie "Trudy" (Moreau) Trudel, his wife of sixty-one years; by his four children, Ronald Raymond Trudel, MD and his spouse Linda (Brown) Trudel, MD of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kenneth David Trudel and his spouse Carol Ann (Gosselin) Trudel of North Smithfield, Gail Marie Ciresi-Sylvia, M.Ed, RN of Cranston and Glen Peter Trudel, Esq. and his spouse LeeAnn Hillary (Sakowski) Trudel, PhD of Wilmington, Delaware. Born in Pawtucket in 1925, Raymond served in the United States Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Marianas Islands/Guam as a special artificer in optics. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he attended the Henry Ford School in Dearborn, Michigan and became a master craftsman in moldmaking and tool making. He returned to Rhode Island, settled with his wife Gertrude first in Central Falls and then permanently in Pawtucket, and worked for Davol Rubber Company in Providence and Cranston for over 37 years, retiring in 1988.

Raymond was a devoted husband and father, and a faithful communicant of St. Cecilia Church, where he served as an usher for decades and volunteered for several Catholic Charity fundraising campaigns over the years.

His funeral with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
