Thelma Hawkins

HAWKINS, THELMA R. 80, of Tucker Lane, Seneca, SC, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Cottingham Hospice Care, Seneca, SC. Born in Providence, RI, she was the wife of the late Bancroft E. Hawkins and the daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Hopkins) Smith. Thelma was the City Administrator for the City of Cranston, RI for thirty six years. She is survived by seven children; Lynn D. Folmsbee, Nancy A. Whitford, Melody J. Salisbury, David A. Hawkins, Lori S. Hawkins, Mark B. Hawkins and Veronica E. Manders, a brother; Joseph Smith, fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children; Brian E. Hawkins and Bonnie L. Ruotolo, two brothers; Thomas F. Smith and Raymond L. Smith and a sister; Mary S. McCullough. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Gorton-Menard Funeral Home & Crematory, 721 Washington Street, Coventry, RI.
