LACAS, ANNA A. (CAITO)
91, passed away March 24, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late George W. Lacas. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Angelina (Perrone) Caito.
Anna was a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Providence. She was a loving and extremely generous woman. Her dynamic personality left a positive impression on people's lives. She was especially proud of her 65 year marriage to her loving husband, and of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children George Lacas and his wife Marilyn of Warwick and Annemarie Hoopis and her husband Richard of Lake Forest, IL. She was the cherished grandmother of Marilyn Santomaro and her husband Philip, Richard Hoopis and his wife Amy, George Lacas and his wife Kebra, Robert Hoopis, and Melissa Lacas, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late John Caito and the late Lena Scalera.
Visitation will be held Monday, 5-8 p.m. with a funeral on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Providence, followed by burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fruit Hill Day Services for Elderly, 399 Fruit Hill Avenue, North Providence, RI 02911.
