Eleanor HAKANSON-ANDREWS Obituary

HAKANSON-ANDREWS,

ELEANOR M. (WILKINSON), 89, of Coventry, died peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Kent Hospital.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Wright Wilkinson and Jennie (Bell) Wilkinson. She was the wife of the late Russell Andrews and Berthel H. Hakanson.

Mrs. Hakanson-Andrews was the Director of Head Start Program for the City of Warwick until her retirement. She was a long time communicant of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and a dedicated member of N.A.R.F.E. where she served as Secretary of the chapter for many years.

She leaves her five children: Pamela H. McPhillips of Cranston, Carla Sue Waldt of Boyerstown, PA, Jill S. Turner of Coventry, Jon Wright Hakanson of Exeter and Jeffrey B. Hakanson of Coventry. She was the Step-Mother of Scott Andrews of Coventry and Russell Andrews of New Hampshire. She was the loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and the sister of the late Arlene Wagner.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Greenwood, Warwick (Exit 12A off I-95). Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. www.murphyfuneralhomes.org
