Born in Uncasville, CT, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Albert Jackson and the Rev. Claribel (Burgess) Jackson.

Gwen received a Bachelor Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. Soon after graduating college she took great satisfaction in her work as a social worker in Providence for several years.

Gwen was a woman of faith and was an active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church for many years.

Later in life, she obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Rhode Island. She was employed for ten years as a Library science educator in the West Warwick School System where she shared her intellectual curiosity, love of learning and reading with her students.

Gwen found tremendous joy in time with her grandchildren.

She was a masterful puzzle maker and devoted time to puzzles in shared spaces while at Harbor Hill.

Gwen was kind, thoughtful, soft spoken but also loved a good laugh.

Gwendolyn is survived by two daughters: Marilyn J. Weigner, MD and her spouse Pamela of Rumford and Karen L. Evertsen and her spouse Bruce of Plainsboro, NJ; a son: Mark D. Weigner and his spouse Cary of Warwick; and two grandchildren: John D. Weigner and Trevor G. Weigner.
