Hi, I'm Rebecca James P Carnegis' daughter. When James J Carnegis died my family planned a Disney trip for my 3rd birthday. It has been 12 years since he has died. The last time I have ever seen him, he was 72.

To all of Jim's family,
I just heard about Jim's passsing and I wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to you. I worked with Jim at Peerless for several years and was very fond of him. I looked forward to visiting our RI agents because I got to spend time with Jim and was always warmly welcomed in his home. I tried to stay in touch with him and he will be missed. May he rest in peace.

To All of Jim's Family:
Jim was my Rhode Island Marketing Representative for Rhode Island for Peerless Insurance. He had somewhat reluctantly decided to retire and we wanted to through him a bash at the Quidnessett Country Club.
I met Jim in the parking lot and just happened to have a new set of golf clubs for him to play with. He was in the process of putting his new clubs in his car until I yelled at him and asked him what in the hell was he doing. He agreed and put his old clubs away. We had a wonderful day on the course with Vin Capone and I have to say I don't recall our fourth. We just about did not play because their was a Catholic Charity Tournament on the course. Vin made a big donation and we joined the group. We came into the dining area and Jim launched into some "prepared comments" and I had to take him off the stage until later.
Roger Jean CEO of Peerless/Netherlands joined us; Bob Loiselle did his top 10 reasons Jim is retiring at my expense; Micky Shaghalian, from RI Independent Agents presented a proclamation from the state. A great evening. Jim spoke and told us about playing soccer with a grandson in the back yard. Jim was a little hard on the boy who put his hands on his hips and said "Grandpa, I'm doing the best I can". Just as Jim always did. Jim sent me a thank you note for the evening. I still have it in my desk. I will cherish it forever.
PS. I have other stories!!!

I first met Mr. Carnegis when I was 17 and he was 30. I was working in my grandfather's insurance agency and he was what we called, a "special agent" for an insurance company.
He became a good friend to the family, and he will always be remembered fondly.
All of us at MKI were fortunate to have known him and we extend our sincere sympathy, to his beloved family, during this most difficult time.
