Louann Rossi Obituary

ROSSI, LOUANN G. (MARCOCCIO), LICSW
67, of Cranston, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA. She was born on August 23, 1949 in Providence, RI, and was a daughter of the late Luigi and Anna (Sabetta) Marcoccio. She was the loving wife of Alfred R. Rossi for 47 years.
Louann was the mother of two sons, Randy R. Rossi and his wife Brooke of Smithfield, the late Alfred J. Rossi and his wife Dawn Rossi of Virginia. Mrs. Rossi graduated from CCRI in social work, continuing to achieve her bachelor's degree in social work and then her master's degree with high honors and advanced standing at RI College.
Louann was able to reach her life goal in helping children and their families to improve their life. She did this by working in the Cranston Public School Department and then moving to Johnston Public School Department until her retirement in 2009 due to illness.
The family of Louann wants to thank Tufts Medical Center, the Nurses and Doctors who gave her 6 extra years of life and tried so hard to keep her alive with this last battle of her sickness.

My deepest sympathies to Louann's family on her passing. I had the privilege of working with her in the Johnston Public Schools and she was a devoted professional.

I am so sorry to hear of Louann's passing. As a part-time teacher, I shared a classroom with Louann several years ago at Norwood Avenue Elementary School in Cranston. She was always smiling in her determined efforts to help everyone around her, particularly the families. She was filled with empathy, cheer, and love. May Louann rest in eternal peace, and my her loved ones be comforted by cherished memories and by the Grace of God.

Whenever a pesty little cousin visited Auntie Anna and Uncle Louie's house, the highlight was my time with Louann. Imagine a 16 year old teenager having to entertain an 11 year old brat. But she was always so patient and kind to me, and for me, spending time with her was always sheer joy.
My deepest sympathies go out to Al and her family. Her loss will be felt by many.
