For those of you who do not know me, my name is John Trudell and I am one of Mike's best friends.
It is with great sadness that I stand in front of you today to celebrate the life of my friend.
Mike's life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to understand why tragic things like this happen to such good people.
However, this is a question without an answer and we should not dwell on the loss of our dear friend, brother, father and grandfather.
Today let's celebrate his life and remember all of the great times we shared and all the ways Mike has effecter our lives.
When I think of mike I remember how much he loved to play music,
He shared that with me by teaching me how to play guitar.
We would play and drink southern comfort on the rocks, which was his favorite.
All night we would play till he had to go to work, which of course he was always late.
At one point Mike had up to 8 or more musicians playing in his 3rd floor apartment,
He would set up microphones and amps, we would jam for hours.
Good times.
I also met my beautiful wife through mike and became his daughters step farther.
I can remember mike Jr. Falling asleep watching TV while mike and I played the night away, one of my favorites songs and I don't know if mike Jr. remember‘s we used to sing puff the magic dragon to him.
So you can see what a big part mike played in my life. From when I met him at 18 years old till now 30 years later.
I would like to read a poem that reminds me of the last few weeks with Mike.
He Only Takes the Best
God saw that he was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So He put His arms around him
And whispered, "Come with me."
With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer,
And saw him fade away.
Although we loved him dearly,
We could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes "the best".
I'll miss you my friend
Peace

I am so sorry for the loss of my brother Mike,we were always so close,we were best friends.I will never forget the times when he basically raised me and my sister Sue,i think if it was now DCYF would be called in..he was 16,I was 12and Sue was 9,and my mom worked evenings so he was in charge from 4:30 till midnight...and he really did a great job and so many great memories of those times.I will also never forget all the bands he was in ,and how they played at all the dances in Edgewood, and the coffee houses, all my girlfriends always would say"Your brother is Mike Mizer, omg he is so cute....you are so lucky!"....and the good times we had hanging out in his room, you were pretty lucky if you got to experience that!!!!!
Mike was a very special person, who touched many ,whether it was through his music or at his job or even the last few years on Facebook, and those who were lucky to know him ,will never forget him!!!!!....I love you Mike, i will miss you ,and all your sayings that will always be with me,and you know what i am talking about!!!!!!!..xoxoxo

We are very sad to see that Mike has left us. We both knew Mike from our high school days and from our neighborhood in Edgewood. Mike was always super cool with a warm personality. Mike rented my mother's house in Edgewood later on and I would see Mike often. Always a really great guy. Our sincere condolences to all family and friends.

I will always remember Mike's smile and gentle soul. I worked with his mom when my family owned the Islander and she always talked about how proud she was of her kids and how much she loved them. I hope all the happy memories you have of Mike will help you through these sad times. My deepest condolences to all of you. He will be missed by many!
