PhotoPLANTE, DONALD G., SR., 62, of Pierce Street died Saturday, December 24 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (St. Pierre) Plante.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Edward J. Plante, Sr. and Dorothy H. (O'Brien) Plante, he had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life.

Mr. Plante was a truck driver for Berkeley Transportation Company, Cumberland for the past 12 years. He had previously worked as a truck driver for the former R.C. Cote Trucking Company, Pawtucket for 27 years. He was a communicant and a Eucharistic Minister of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Central Falls.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Donna M. Plante Meehan of Cumberland, Tina M. Plante Jances of East Providence and Tammy L. Machado of Cumberland; two sons, Donald G. Plante, Jr. and William M. 'Billy' Plante, both of Pawtucket; three sisters, Lorraine Tardif, Cynthia Hardy and Patricia Fuller, all of Pawtucket; two brothers, Joseph Plante of Pawtucket and William Plante of Central Falls; three grandchildren, Savonnah and Courtney Peltier and Jarin Machado, all of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward J. Plante, Jr.

The funeral will be held WEDNESDAY, December 28 at 8:30 A.M. from the BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 A.M. in Notre Dame Church, 666 Broad Street, Central Falls. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
