Anne Bartish, 96, of North Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday surrounded by family.
A daughter of the late Wasil and Anna Gerich, Anne was born in Passaic, N.J. on July 14, 1916.
Anne was a graduate of Meyers High School, Class of 1934, and worked as a seamstress for many years at Empire Dress Co.
She was also a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bartish, to whom she was married for 52 years; brother, John Gerich; and sister Mary Alescavage.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Bartish, Las Vegas; daughter, Ilona Evanchek, Okeechobee, Fla.; sister Veronica Whalen, Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Deborah Feddock, Lititz; Anne Biggs, Leslie, Ga.; John Michael Kaminski, Wilkes-Barre, and Jay Bartish, Chesapeake, Va.; and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom absolutely adored her.
Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday from the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township, with Office of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church. Interment will be in St Mary's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday. Parastas will be held at 4 p.m. Friday with the Very Rev. James G. Hayer officiating.
