Joseph R. Olsheski

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. — Joseph R. Olsheski, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 16, 2013.

He was the son of Anna Olsheski of Avoca and graduated from Penn State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He joined GE upon graduation, where he was employed in the steam turbine department until retirement.

He was a scout master of Troop 32 for many years. The Eagle Scouts flourished under Joe's leadership.

He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the Elfun Society.

He was a passionate golfer who loved playing with his loyal friends. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by all. However, cherished memories last forever.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Beverly; two sons, David, Loveland, Colo., and Paul and Melissa, Wesley Chapel, Fla. He is also survived by his sister, Theresa and Ronald Orlosky, Duryea; and his niece, Denise and Mark Ludwikowski, Clarks Summit. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, Josie and Logan; and his great-nieces, Lauren and Leah.

Calling hours were held Nov. 20 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 21 in St. Gabriel's Church, Rotterdam. Interment will be private in the family cemetery in Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to St. Gabriel's Church, Rotterdam.
