Ceil M. Mihalchek, 96, of Edwardsville, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, in Commonwealth Hospice Inpatient Unit, St. Luke's Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
She was born May 14, 1916, in Edwardsville, daughter of the late Frank and Frances Scrupski Scibek. She was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and worked for many years at Miller's Jewelry Store. She had been a longtime member of St. Hedwig's Church until its closing, and more recently was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston.
Ceil loved life, shopping, casinos, flowers, polkas and especially spending time with family and good friends.
Special thanks go to the staffs of Dr. Ritz, Dr. Scott and Phyllis Mundy's offices; and also to the employees of Gerrity's, Luzerne, Luzerne Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank, Edwardsville for all their help and friendship shown to Ceil over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Frank, Walter, Joseph and two infant brothers; and sister, Blanche.
Ceil is survived by her nephew, Edward Zochowski and his wife Dorothy; sister-in-law, Gerri Scibek; goddaughter, Barbara Bates; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Lehman.
