Josephine M. Sciandra, 80, formerly of Pittston, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her family.
Born in Pittston on March 14, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Carrie Augello DePasquale.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1949. In her earlier years, she had worked at Leslie Fay and prior to her retirement, she was a teacher's aide with the Pittston Area School District.
She was a former member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church, Pittston. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Atty. Guy DePasquale, and sisters Dolores Kocher and Angeline DePasquale.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Charles Sciandra; daughters, Mary Theresa Sciandra, New York City, and Charlotte Weybrecht and her husband, Steven, Bear Creek; two grandsons, Dylan and Jonathan Weybrecht; brothers Joseph DePasquale, Pittston, and Dr. Samuel DePasquale, Kingston; sisters Justine DePasquale, Wilkes-Barre, and Theresa McNamara and her husband, Thomas, Exeter; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, William St., Pittston. Interment will be private in St. Rocco's Cemetery, Pittston Township. Friends may call Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Little Flower Manor, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre.
