Joseph Stephen Levi, 84, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away on March 21, 2013.
Born in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Malak Levi. Also preceding him in death was a brother, William Levi.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jean Isopi Levi. He is also survived by three children, daughter Mary Ann and her husband, Andrew Michaels, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son Joseph and his wife, Gina, of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter Debra and her husband, Gregg Yankovich, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren, Marisa Michaels, Nicholas and Joshua Levi and Noah Yankovich; sister-in-law Catherine Carchilla, of Charlotte, N.C., and brother-in-law William and his wife, Rosemary Isopi, of Dallas. He had several nieces and nephews.
Before moving to Myrtle Beach in July 2004, Joseph and his wife resided in Shavertown with their family. He owned and operated the Chase Nursery in Shavertown for 43 years before retiring. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and belonged to the Daddow-Issacs Post 672 American Legion in Dallas and the Elks Lodge 1771 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Joseph loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
On Tuesday March 26, 2013, there will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Therese Church, Shavertown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.
