Paul S. Bittinger, 80, went to be with the Lord and Mom on December 12, 2012 at the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1932, in Chambersburg, to Paul and Ethel (Bender) Bittinger. He was married to Betty J. (Leininger) Bittinger on April 15, 1954. They were members of the Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church where they attended the Shining Lights Sunday School Class. Paul was employed by V.T Harman Heating and Oil, Oliver Oil Company as a driver and retired from Grove Manufacturing after 30 years of service. After retirement he was a parts runner for Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed hunting. Paul and Betty enjoyed camping and helping with anything they could at Shade Gap Campground. Paul is survived by two sons, Paul (husband of Sherry) R. Bittinger, Chambersburg William (husband of Kim) L. Bittinger, Chambersburg, five grandchildren: Dawn (wife of James) Thompson, Kiesha Bittinger, Brian Bittinger, Wesley Bittinger and Tara Bittinger, four great-grandchildren: Riley, Kyleigh and Braylon Thompson and Owen Bittinger, two step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church. The family will welcome friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Monday. Interment will be held at Air Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chambersburg Brethren in Christ Church 465 Center Street Chambersburg, PA 17201 in memory of Paul. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, will be handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed at www.kelsocorneliusfh.com

So sorry about Paul, He and Betty were a dear couple that I appreciated so much. I remember when he would come up as Santa when my grandchildren were little.He will not be forgotten. My love,Sympathy & prayers are with the dear family.

I worked with Paul for a period of time in 1966 when I first started at Grove. I will always remember his smile, friendliness and willingness to help anybody. He was an inspiration to me and an individual whom I always respected. May God bless the family during this time of sorrow.
