Harvey Brechbiel Obituary

Brechbiel, Jr. Harvey F. Brechbiel, Jr., 90, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, in the Chambersburg Hospital ER. Born on November 19, 1922 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Harvey F. and Edith Brechbiel. He was the widower of Beulah Tolbert Brechbiel, who preceded him in death on October 1, 2006. Harvey was a graduate of Waynesboro High School and served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 15, 1943, he married the love of his life, Beulah Ruth Tolbert in Camp Sibert, Alabama. In 1956 the couple moved with their daughter Wanda to Fairfax, Virginia. He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington DC, and retired in 1992. Upon his retirement they moved to Fayetteville. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chambersburg. Harvey is survived by his daughter, Wanda McGary (husband, Alvin) of Leominster, MA; three grandchildren,Deborah Gouveia, Lisa Egbert, and Craig McGary; and seven great grandchildren. The last of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 50 Ragged Edge Road, Chambersburg. Interment will follow in Norland Cemetery, where members of the VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard will conduct military graveside honors. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Missionary Fund c/o Lynn Peiffer, 208 Heritage Road, Chambersburg.
