Swope, Marjorie  
Marjorie Swope Marjorie Swope, 98, of Chambersburg, PA and formerly of Black Bear Road, Needmore, PA passed away Friday, February 20th, 2015 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA. Marjorie was born in Laidig, PA on January 1, 1917, the daughter of the late Bertha (McClain) and Jesse Laidig. She was the widow of Coy E. Swope whom she married on June 15, 1940 and he passed away on November 1, 1980. Mrs. Swope was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Needmore, PA, past matron and member of the Eastern Star in McConnellsburg, PA and was a seamstress at the Sagner Sewing Factory in McConnellsburg, PA. She is survived by Daughters Joyce Jay of McConnellsburg, PA, Judy (wife of Joel) Horst of Chambersburg, PA, Sister Elmo Lorah of Ephrata, PA, Grandchildren Tim Plessinger, Cindy Long, Angie Campbell, Harry Shaw, Greg Shaw, Mark Culbertson, six great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by sister Dorothy Hollenshead, brother Harvey Laidig and half-brother Paul Laidig. Religious Service at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Needmore, PA, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015 with Pastor Bill Bair officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 23rd, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. There will also be visitation one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. An Eastern Star service will be held on Monday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment at Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery, Needmore, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, in care of Coy Spade, 796 Black Bear Road, Needmore, PA 17238. Arrangements were made by the Howard L. Wetzel, N. Mildred  
N. Mildred Wetzel N. Mildred Wetzel, 97, previously of Cumberland Avenue, Shippensburg, and a resident of Elmcroft Assisted Living, Shippensburg, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Elmcroft. Born August 24, 1917, in Waynesboro, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Galen and Albie Good Newcomer. She was the wife of Kenneth Gover Wetzel whom she married June 12, 1937 at the First Brethren Church, Waynesboro. They celebrated 70 years together before he deceased on January 2, 2008. As a young child, Mildred's family moved to a small farm near Good's Dam and later moved to Christy Good's farm. She attended school at Mount Vernon (grades 1-8) and Washington Twp. (grades 9-10), and was a 1935 graduate of the Waynesboro High School. She was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. She had a strong love of God and her church and an enduring love for her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking, especially baking pies. Mildred is survived by one son, Kenneth Gary Wetzel and his wife Diane, of Parkesburg; a daughter-in-law, Carol Wetzel of Greensburg; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Douglas E. Wetzel; two brothers, Christian Galen and Robert Good Newcomer; and a sister, Abigail Newcomer Shockey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg with the Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton officiating. Private burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. A visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. White, Janet  
Janet White Janet White of Boise, Idaho, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Feb. 17, 2015. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth (Beth), son-in-law, Doug Varie, and three grandchildren, Ian, Kristen, and Sean, all of Boise, Id.; and numerous nieces and nephews, and many close family friends. Wright Jr., William R.  
William R. Wright, Jr. William R. "Butch" Wright, Jr., 67, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his home. He was born on May 6, 1947, in Johnstown, a son of the late William R. and Saundra Sanderson Wright, Sr. Butch was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, enlisting on June 14, 1965 and honorably discharged on February 3, 1967. He married Nancy L. Wiser on July 17, 1991, in Hagerstown, MD. Earlier in life, Butch was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot. He liked to be around people and was a frequent morning visitor to the former Hardee's and more recently McDonalds to socialize. Butch enjoyed golfing and was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved children, his dog Charlie, and spending time with his family. Butch is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy; one sister, Diana (Joe) Wagner of Columbia City, IN; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert E. Wright. His graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 27, 2015, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Interment with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Area Veterans Council will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oasis of Love Church at 303 S. Washington St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
