Betty Louise (Rife) Urey

Betty Louise (Rife) Urey of Dillsburg, PA entered into eternal rest on September 28, 2011.

Betty was born in Chambersburg, PA. to the late Rev. Charles W. and Carrie E. Rife.

She was predeceased by her husband, The Rev. Bruce E. Urey, formerly of York, PA. Together they served in christian ministry for over 30 years in the Brethren in Christ and the United Brethren in Christ denominations. Betty also worked as an executive assistant for Berg Electronics/DuPont Connector/FCI Corporation for 35 years.

She is survived by her three sons and four grand daughters, Jeffrey Eugen and wife Janice of Shermans Dale, PA., Gregory Nelson and wife Barbara of Dillsburg with daughters Heather and Molly and Kurt Alan and wife Kelly of Brook Park, Ohio with daughters Kaedi and Kayla. Betty is also survived by two sisters and a brother with their respective families, Doris Meyers of Brownstown, PA., Arlene Keener of Lancaster, PA. and Charles Rife, Jr. of Rockford, Ill.

She was a member of Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill, Pa. Betty was an accomplished artist in painting and stained glass. Betty also loved the Steelers and riding her motorcycle, taking her last ride at age 69 on her Yamaha 650.

Family and friends are invited to Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc. 30 North Chestnut St., Dillsburg, PA. on Saturday October 1 with viewing starting at 8:00 AM and the funeral service at 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Air Hill Cemetery in Chambersburg, PA with fellowship and light refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Celebration Community Church, 1048 South Mountain Rd., Dillsburg, PA 17019 for "Youth Mission Trips".
