Dorothy J. Wile

Mrs. Dorothy J. Wile, 84, formerly of 1 Lincoln Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday evening, January 21, 2013, at The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Born February 15, 1928 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Hazel I. (Hartman) Sollenberger. She and her husband, the late Richard L. "Dick" Wile, were married on January 12, 1946. They moved to the Lincoln Drive address in 1955. Mr. Wile died on February 1, 1999. Mrs. Wile worked in the Caledonia Golf Club Pro Shop for 18 years. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, theCedarettes Auxiliary of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Shippensburg, the Quincy Village Ladies Auxiliary, and the National AARP. She was a life member of the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and was also active for many years with the Chambersburg Area Council of Republican Women. Mrs. Wile enjoyed yard sales, bake sales, shopping, church activities, and spending time with her grandsons. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Marie Loose and her husband, Steven of East Berlin; two grandsons, Timothy Yaukey and his wife Kristy of Jacksonville, FL and Brenton Yaukey and his wife, Katie of Bendersville; two great-grandsons, Jake Yaukey and Gage Yaukey, both of Jacksonville; two brothers, Floyd W. Sollenberger of Chambersburg and Harold EugeneSollenberger of Camp Hill; four nieces; and one nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth I. Shaffer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Calvary United Methodist Church, 150 Norlo Drive, Fayetteville with Rev. Clyde DeShong, III and Rev. William Kauffman officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 150 Norlo Drive, Fayetteville, PA 17222.
