Elwood L. Hockenberry

Elwood L. Hockenberry Elwood, L. "Hock" Hockenberry, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Village of Laural Run. He was born May 31, 1932 in Newburg, PA, the son of the late, Cloyd and Esther (Burkholder) Hockenberry. He retired from Letterkenny after 30 years. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Hock was a life member of all of the local VFW and American Legions. He was a leader for the Chantilly and A.K. Country Bands, was a collector of guns and had a great sense of humor. He was well loved by family and friends. He is survived by his daughters: Barabara Baughman (Gary), Linda Harmony (Edward), Candance Polk; Grandchildren: Laurie Etter, Missy Richardson, Amy Vance, Tammy Harmony, Tina Stumbaugh; three brothers: Ray Hockenberry, Gene Hockenberry, Fred Hockenberry; a sister, Leora Shrader; nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Hockenberry (2013), son, Rick Glunt (1983) and grandson Gary (2010). There will be a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the WF Sellers Funeral Home in Chambersburg with the Rev. Kenneth Reid officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599 Honor Guard.
