There is no man on Earth today who can fill the shoes and role Gary had here. He was always bringing the whitest light, warmest energies, plenty of happiness and important lessons of love. He shared great stories, helped anyone in need, and did not judge people for their actions but by their heart. He was always living life to the very fullest. A true protector and warrior for nature, one another and the planet we all are a part of - that connectedness, the oneness, the whole purity of it all, he was really a truly amazing soul and spirit. The whole world may not realize his loss, yet it will suffer in his absence. His lessons and legacy will live on forever in my memory and many others I am sure, as he touched the lives of so many in such a positive way. Thank you for everything you represented in this lifetime Bear, you will be truly missed.

To the family- I guess you all know that your son and brother loved music and fun and just being out and about, so it shouldn't surprise you that he had friends far and wide and that we all had a great love for him. You are joined in your grief by many people you will never meet, I among them. My deepest sympathies for you, Bear was a crazy, fun, amazing person, but he shines on somewhere we just can't see.

A shining star has passed away, and my universe will never be as bright. I will hold onto and cherish every memory I've made with my Uncle Bear. He's introduced me to the Grateful Dead and gambling at a casino, took me out for my 21st birthday, festival adventures and lemonade, and many a steak dinner. He was the most unjudgemental and caring human I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. His love for the earth was contagious to those around him. Regretfully, as my family grew and my life became more hectic, our time together became thinner. If I have learned anything from this tragedy, it is to never lose sight of those that radiate such love and energy that they make your world a brighter place to live. Never let a day go in between letting your loved ones know how much they are really loved. Smile at the sun, dance in the rain, listen to great music, and laugh. These are the lessons I was fortunate enough to have learned from a great teacher. I love you, Gary.

Chubby you were like my Dad growing up. I didn't know Gary as well as I know Chris and Mike. But I am very sorry for your loss just the same. It's always the ones that are left behind that hurt the most. His outward man has gone. But his inward man will be with all of you and his loved ones forever. It looks like he was so loved. And that's all that matters in life. To be loved. My thoughts are with all of you.

I've known Gary since 8th grade at Faust Jr High in the mid 70's and he was always a nice calm cool quiet guy and seen him here and there throughout the years and at Kenny's Auction and was still always the same ole Gary I've known from Faust. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Again that song by Michael Jackson goes through my mind. Gone Too Soon.

I've known Gary more than 25 years, he was a kind, good hearted man who was very easy to get along with. Because of these reasons, he had so many friends. I've also have known his brother Cris nearly as long, but not as well as Gary & haven't seen him in some 10 years. I've meet his Dad 1 or so times & can say I respect them as well. My thoughts & prayers go out to the entire family, they are all good people. Gary will be missed by many friends & family, God bless everyone in this difficult time.

Gary was one of my very best friends; though our life paths were separated for the last few years, we loved each other deeply. I have know Gary for twenty years, and I do not believe I have ever met a more benevolent, caring, loving and non judgmental person in my life. He continually gave of himself freely; even when it meant he would go without. I learned much about many things from a man with no formal education; his spiritual discernment in stressful situations always amazed me. I love Him so, and will greatly miss the one of few people in my life who was always there for me no matter what circumstances were at hand. I pray my brother find the peace in death that eluded him in life.
