James Lowery

James M. "Jim" Lowery, 53, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born November 7, 1958 in Baltimore, Md. Jim was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Scotland School for Veterans Children and then continued his education, earning an associate's degree in Nursing. He was currently employed at South Mt. Restoration Center as a nurse; previously, he had worked at Menno Haven and James River Corp. In addition to the Knights of Columbus, Jim also was the Treasurer for Scotland School for Veterans Children Alumni, President of the Wilson School for Gymnastics Parents Assoc. and was active with the Special Olympics. He enjoyed volunteering in many activities-He was the go to man! He was involved with SSVC midget football for 12 years, was very active with his daughter's gymnastics and loved watching his daughter in sports. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Karen (Zenefski); and his daughter, Samantha; five siblings, June Star Lowery, Bonnie Jane (wife of Kenneth James) Pendeleton, William Gross (husband of Lavern) Lowery, Floria Lowery, Yvonne Lowery; and a host of twelve nieces, ten nephews; cousins and close family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: James M. and Marigretta Lowery and his much beloved grandmother, Margaret Edwards. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church with the Rev. James R. O'Brien Officiating. There will be a visitation at the William F. Sellers Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the name of Samantha Lowery for Continuing Education at Corning Credit Union, 405 Wayne Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
