Loel D. Adkins Sr.

Loel D. Adkins, Sr. Loel Dean Adkins, Sr., 79, of Fannettsburg, and formerly of New Cumberland died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Shippensburg Health Care Center, Hamilton Twp. He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; a Marine Corps veteran; worshipped with Family Worship Center Media Church and received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Loel was known as "A Man of Many Talents"; including welding, metal sculpture, woodcraft, and small engine repairs. Loel was born in Paxton, IL to the late James and Edna (Edwards) Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Rose (Brotherton) Adkins; five sons, Loel "Dean" Adkins, Jr. and wife JoAnn of New Bloomfield, PA, David Michael Adkins of Orlando, FL, Craig Thomas Adkins and wife Ida of Wexford, PA, Kenneth Scott Adkins and wife Theresa of Houston, TX, and Wayne Daniel Adkins and wife Ellen of Hummelstown, PA; twenty grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Twp.
