Lynn E. Kesselring(1929 - 2014)

Lynn E. Kesselring Lynn Ellsworth Kesselring, 84, of Quincy, formerly of Greencastle, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at Quincy Village, where he resided for the past 3 years. Born December 16, 1929, in Antrim Township, he was the son of the late James Richard and Leola Alena (Crider) Kesselring. He grew up in Antrim Township, attending Pine Field School. He attended Church of the Brethren Upton. Mr. Kesselring served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, obtaining the rank of Corporal. He also served in the Army National Guard. He was employed at T.B. Woods Co., Chambersburg, in the Maintenance Dept. for 22 years and worked for 5 years for Pangborn Corporation, Hagerstown, Md., retiring in 1973. Mr. Kesselring enjoyed hunting and gardening. He is survived by his children, daughter, Pamela S. Barnes, Chambersburg; sons, Jerry L. Kesselring, State Line, and Steven W. Kessselring, Chambersburg; daughters, Lori J. Burkett, Greencastle and Lisa D. Webb, Greencastle; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchild; and a sister, Louise White, Westminster, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra L. Kahn; a brother, James David Kesselring; and a sister, Hilda Laverne Kesselring. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Howard Beaver officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , 417 Phoenix Drive, Suite A, Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to VA Medical Center, Voluntary Service, 510 Butler Ave, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
