Mabel E (Haugh) Harbaugh(1932 - 2014)

Mabel E. Harbaugh Mabel E. (Haugh) Harbaugh, 82, a resident of Julia Manor Health Care Center, Hagerstown, and formerly of 45 E. Fifth St., Waynesboro, died Tuesday evening, February 18, 2014, in the nursing home. Born January 15, 1932, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Haugh, Sr. and Annie M. (Gift) Haugh. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Harbaugh graduated from Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1949. She and her husband, the late Donald Lee Harbaugh, were married on June 25, 1955. They moved to the East Fifth Street address in 1957. Mr. Harbaugh died on August 1, 1997. Mrs. Harbaugh worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill from 1950-1958. However, she was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro and the National AARP. Mrs. Harbaugh enjoyed being with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Julie D. Small of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Shane M. Small and his wife Susan, and Amber N. Peck and her husband Kevin; four great-grandchildren, Kendal, Anabelle, Carter, and Natalie; one sister, Doris C. Armstrong of Chambersburg; one brother, H. Eugene Haugh of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Isabelle E. Simmers, Ruby P. Haugh, Anna C. Smith, Janet R. Martin, and B. Louise Keller; and three brothers, Ralph Haugh, Jr., Melvin L. Haugh, and J. Robert Haugh. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
