Mary "Jane" Ault

Mary Ault Mary "Jane" Ault, 90, formerly of St. Thomas, passed into eternal life on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Providence Place, Chambersburg, where she had been a resident since October 2012. She was born November 29, 1923, in St.Thomas to J. Stewart and Belle (Byers) Graham. She graduated from St. Thomas High School Class of 1941. In her early life, she worked for Western Union in Carlisle and Chambersburg. On June 20, 1945, she married John Franklin Ault. During WWII, she and John lived in Mississippi while he was stationed at Camp Van Dorn. They made a number of trips back to that area in later years to visit past acquaintances. Jane devoted her life to being a wife, homemaker, and mother to her daughter, Janice Marie Ault. She was an excellent cook and was meticulous in everything she did. Jane was the model of a Christian lady, a sweet and gentle spirit who made everyone she met feel important and special. A lifelong member of the St. Thomas United Methodist Church, Jane was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a past officer of that organization as well as an active participant in the Chambersburg District UMW. An avid reader all her life, Jane more recently occupied her time with word search puzzles. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, John Graham of St. Thomas and Helen Dorn of Harrisburg. She is survived by her husband; daughter; and several nieces and a nephew. Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Portner officiating. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg, is conducting the arrangements.
