Mary Jane Slavin

Mary Jane Slavin of Chambersburg passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012, at Manor Care Health Services. She was the wife of the late Frank B. Slavin. Born October 30, 1931, in Cumberland County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Zelda Blocher. Mary Jane was last employed at R&S Dress Mfg., where she retired from in 1997. She was a member of the Mount Olivet Church and a volunteer at the Edenville Community Center and Saint Thomas Ruritan Club. She enjoyed bingo and spending time with her family. She is survived by three sons, Richard and wife, Kath Mellott, Stanley and wife, Charley Mellott, all of Chambersburg and Raymond and wife, Cammy Slavin of Newville; five grandchildren, Stacy and husband, Ryan Baker of Little Elm, Texas, Jeremy and wife, Rose Mellott, and Jason Mellott, all of Chambersburg, and Tiffany Marie and Leevon Ray Slavin of Newville; and five great-grandchildren, Kalia and Kristen Weaver of Shippensburg, Cody Baker of Little Elm, Texas, and Cole James and Sierra Fall Slavin, both of Newville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held at the Mount Olivet Church at the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, Inc., 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
