Nancy M. Rogers

Nancy M. Rogers, 73, formerly of Mercersburg and Chambersburg, began her greatest adventure at the side of her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 2, 2012, at Heritage Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in King George, Va. Born January 2, 1939, in Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Liberty B. Rogers. Upon graduation from James Buchanan High School in 1958, she earned her Licensed Practical Nursing designation on September 4, 1958. She dedicated 38 years in service to helping the sick and injured at the Chambersburg Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed spending time gardening, bingo, playing with her pet cat Molly, and most importantly, being around her friends and family. Three words that best describe her blessed life are Family, Devotion, and Love. She is survived by her son, Michael of Baltimore, Md.; brothers, Jack N. Rogers (Ruth) of Waynesboro and Thomas E. Rogers (Joyce) of Chambersburg. She is also survived her nephew, Thomas A. Rogers, II; nieces, Jennifer G. Rogers and Rebecca F. Lyon (Rogers); and great-niece, Isabella. The Rev. Michael R. Brindle will officiate the Celebration of Life service to be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 8 Linden Ave., Mercersburg, 17236. Family will welcome friends with food and refreshments while honoring her life in memories and fellowship. Interment will be held in private by the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in her honor to the ,; or the American Foundation for the Blind, are greatly appreciated by the family.
