Pauline E. Strite

Pauline Elizabeth "Sis" Strite, 78, a resident of Great Cove Road, Fort Littleton, PA and more recently of Manor Care Nursing Home, Chambersburg, PA went to be with the Lord at 5:35 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013 at Manor Care surrounded by her family. Born September 22, 1934 in Willow Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Neil) Hampton. She was married to Orville B. Strite, Sr. on March 21, 1953. Mr. Strite preceded in death on December 13, 1992. Mrs. Strite is survived by seven children: Karen Byers (Gary), St. Thomas, PA; Wilma Brown (Steve), Burnt Cabins, PA; Paul Strite (Janet Wyman), Hanover, PA; Violet Summers (Wayne), Mercersburg, PA; Denise Angle (Jeffery), Chambersburg, PA; Ada Price (Randy), Shade Gap, PA; and Orville Strite, Jr. (Teresa), Greencastle, PA. A son Jeryl (Jerry) Strite, a daughter Crystal Strite and a granddaughter Maggie Brown are deceased. There are 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters survive: Robert Hampton, State College, PA; Norman Hampton, Chambersburg, PA; Dorothy Wise, Willow Hill, PA Carl Hampton, Fayetteville, PA; and Barbara Appleby, Willow Hill, PA. Three brothers and a sister are deceased: Harry Hampton, Jr., Arthur Hampton, George Hampton, and Josephine Hampton. Mrs. Strite was a member of the Shady Pine Mennonite Church, Willow Hill, PA. Mainly a homemaker, Mrs. Strite was active at babysitting. In earlier years, she did Home Party Sales, and worked at Stanley Company, and the former Leader Nursing Home in Chambersburg. A fantastic cook, she was well known for her love of singing and for spreading her kindness and sweet spirit to all those around her. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Shady Pine Mennonite Church, Willow Hill, PA with Pastor Marlin "Butch" Neil officiating. Interment will be at Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Dry Run, PA. Friends may call at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, 301 Pitt St., Hustontown, PA 17229 from 6-9 p.m. on Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
