Richard Lee Gilbert

Richard Lee Gilbert, 67, of Fayetteville, passed away November 22, 2012 at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. He was born April 1, 1945, at home in Pond Bank, the son of the late Alfred Gilbert and Catherine Jones Wilson. Richard married to Cinda Mouer Gilbert of Fayetteville, on Sept. 18, 1965. For most of his life, Richard was co-owner and operator of Gilbert and Flagle Logging. Once he retired from the logging industry, Richard worked at Sunnyway Foods in Chambersburg as the Dairy Manager. Richard enjoyed spending time in the outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter. Richard is survived by his wife Cinda Gilbert of Fayetteville, three daughters, Lorrie (wife of Tim) Helman of New Franklin, PA, Staci (wife of Jason) Geesaman of Fayetteville, PA and Heidi (partner of Ken Decker) of Shippensburg, his father in law George Mouer of Fayetteville, 5 grandchildren: Jodi (wife of Steve) Frazier of New Franklin, PA, Casey Helman of New Franklin, Matthew Helman of Waynesboro, Lance Geesaman of Fayetteville, and Cole Geesaman of Fayetteville, and one step great granddaughter Jasmine Frazier. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Alfred (husband of Deb) Gilbert of Pond Bank, Roger Gilbert of Fayetteville, Merle (husband of Sandy) Gilbert of Chambersburg, 4 sisters: Catherine (wife of the late Jim) Carbaugh of Fayetteville, Francis (husband of Ralph) Flagle of Fayetteville, Barbra Hock of Fayetteville, and Jane (wife of Richard) Beidel of Fayetteville, one step brother William Gilbert of Chambersburg, and one step sister Grace Ewing of Chambersburg. Richard is preceded in death by his parents Alfred Gilbert and Catherine Wilson, his mother in law Romaine Mouer, two brothers Raymond and Glen Gilbert, one step brother Walter Gilbert and one step sister Isabel Hykes. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 at the Fayetteville Church of God, 5276 Treher Rd., Fayetteville, with the Rev. Staci Geesaman officiating.
