Shirley Mae (Kessler) Yoder(1929 - 2014)

Shirley Mae Yoder Shirley Mae (Kessler) Yoder, 84, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Waynesboro Hospital. Born April 23, 1929, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Dudenhouffer) Kessler. Shirley retired as a telephone operator from C&P, which later became AT&T, after 20 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo, especially at the Knights of Columbus, watching Wheel of Fortune, reading books, and spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by two sons, David A. Yoder of Hagerstown, Larry R. Yoder and wife Susan W. of Greencastle; a daughter, Valerie J. Goetz and husband Jeffrey L. of Greencastle; a granddaughter, Robin M. Ingream; a grandson, Nicholas L. Goetz; and a great-grandson, Brayden L. Ingream. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Yuhas. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Rest Haven Funeral Chapel. www.rsthvn.com
