Tressa L. Thomson

Tressa L. Thomson Tressa L."Babe" Thomson, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away April 12, 2014 at home. She was born August 13, 1928 in Shippensburg, PA to Charles and Daisy (Parsons) Cisney. She was the widow of the late William Thomson, who died in 1989. Tressa was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. She was retired from Sears where she had worked in the offices. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1599, American Legion Post 46 in Chambersburg, Marine Corps League, Chambersburg, Amvets Post 224 Chambersburg and the Chambersburg Elks Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry E. (wife of John) Welsh of Waynesboro and her granddaughter, Christina D. (wife of Michael) Redano of Waynesboro. Babe has two great-granddaughters: Ashley (wife of Patrick) Gorman of Carlisle, Amanda (wife of Antonio) Mattone of Pittsburgh, and a great-great-grandson, Dante Mattone of Pittsburgh. She has two step-grandchildren: JohnWelsh of Waynesboro and Sue Rosenberry of Fannettsburg. Tressa is survived by one sister, Patsy Breneman of Orrstown and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five sisters; Ruth Myers, Anna Rotz, Dolly Zullinger, Mary Eyer and Janet Brown and four brothers; Aaron, Alfred, Bud and Charles Cisney Jr. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 till 8 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd. Chambersburg. Interment will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Norland Cemetery with the Rev. Suzanne Elliott officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Better Days Animal League, 12310 Mongul Hill Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257 or to the Salvation Army, 159 L.W.W., Chambersburg, PA. 17201. Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave, Chambersburg, PA will be handling the arrangements.
