Hilda Bricker Obituary

Mrs. Hilda M. (Fisher) Bricker, 86, of 201 Price's Church Road, Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, in Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. She had been in failing health for the past several years and critically ill for the past three weeks. Born April 8, 1926, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Chancie W. and Erma Elizabeth (Ewan) Fisher. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Mrs. Bricker was a graduate of Quincy High School with the Class of 1945. She and her husband, the late Mr. Lester J. Bricker, were married in December 1945. They had lived at their present residence since 1969. He passed away April 12, 1986. Mrs. Bricker was a homemaker and along with her husband, owned and operated Bricker's Atlantic Service Station on North Church Street, Waynesboro, for many years. She also worked as an aide at Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro, for a number of years. She was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren Church, Waynesboro, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She also was a memberofthe National AARP. Mrs. Bricker enjoyed bowling in various area leagues, doing needlework, flower gardening, fishing, and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed collecting angels. She is survived by two children, Glen E. Bricker and his wife, Rosalie and Alice L. Wolff and her husband, Tim, all of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Aimee N. Bricker of Waynesboro, Chad E. Helman of Greencastle, Mark A. Helman of Waynesboro and Eric T. Wolff of Greencastle; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne L. Fisher of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bricker was preceded in death by an infant daughter, June Elizabeth Bricker. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 in Blue Rock United Brethren Church, 7885 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, with Pastor Gregory Helman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
