Janet Burdge Obituary

Janet G. Burdge, age 76, of East Waterford, PA; passed away at the William Penn Nursing Home in Lewistown, PA on Saturday, January 8, 2011. Born March 29, 1934 in Perry Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Wayne and Helen Goshorn Smith. Janet worked in the restaurant business most of her life, she enjoyed the interaction with the people; she also enjoyed travelling, watching TV, and going to country music concerts.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Norman Burdge, whom she married on August 6, 1953; her son, Brady Burdge (wife Pam)of East Waterford, PA; three grandchildren, Aleasha, Colton, and Cameran; and five siblings, Helen Amy, Sharon Lily, Harold, John, and Jim Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11 AM in the Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, PA; where Rev. Marlin A. "Butch" Neil and Deacon Paul Shearer will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service in the Upper Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Lack Tuscarora EMS Building Fund, P.O. Box 96, East Waterford, PA 17021. Online condolences may be offered at www.geiselfuneralhome.com

Janet's family i remember time spent at Janet house when i was younger with my mother (Vonnie A. Piper Burdge) she always had good treats made for us we would be playing in the yard n i can still hear her yelling come on children time for treats. Every time i would see janet i would always remember the treats my thoughts n prayers go out to all.

Norman and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Janet. We worked together years ago at the Willow Hill Restaurant. She was a wonderful lady and was always there when anyone needed her. God bless you and your family.
