A. Lorraine Geiman A. Lorraine Geiman, 95, of York, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Rev. Melvin Geiman, Jr. Born March 2, 1919, in Shippensburg, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Martin and Pearl (Shriner) Burkhart. Mrs. Geiman was an elementary school teacher. She taught in several one room school houses in the Shippensburg area and finished her career at East York Elementary in the York Suburban School District in 1985. She was a graduate of Shippensburg High School and received her B.S. in education from Shippensburg University. She also attended Philadelphia Bible College. Mrs. Geiman was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church, where she was very active in numerous aspects of the church. She and her husband, Rev. Geiman, were the ministerial team at Fourth United Methodist Church from 1952-1982. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Jorraine Hodgson and son-in-law, Frank of York; a grandson, David Hodgson of York; brother, Robert Burkhart of Carlisle; sister-in-law, Rose Geiman of Lititz; brother-in-law, Clarence Neil of Chambersburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Fourth United Methodist Church, 1067 E. Market St., York, with her pastor, the Rev. Mitchell M. Galloway, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Fourth United Methodist Church, 20 N.
