Miss Alice I. Benedict, 94, of 6800 Nunnery Road, Waynesboro, died Wednesday evening, April 10, 2013, in her home. Born July 30, 1918 near Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Irvin P. and Minnie (Good) Benedict. She practiced nursing training in Baltimore, MD and attended business school in Waynesboro and Lancaster, PA. Miss Benedict worked as a nurse's aide at the Waynesboro Hospital and was a home nurse for various families in the area. She was a member of the Brown's Mill Congregation, Old German Baptist Church, Chambersburg. She is survived by one brother, D. Marion Benedict of Waynesboro; two sisters-in-law, Nellie L. Benedict of Anderson, IN and Anna V. Benedict of Greencastle; and 15 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Rhoda Benedict, Elva Benedict, and Clara Benedict; three brothers, Welty Benedict, Harlan Benedict, and Willis Benedict; and one infant brother. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013 in the Brown's Mill Meeting House, Grindstone Hill Road, Chambersburg, PA, with the home brethren officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The family requests the omission of flowers.
